Eyesight regained!

Finally, after 14 years of glasses(i start wearing glasses in Pri 3) with 10 years of contact lens, I regained my eyesight! although it wasn't perfect right now, and it stings whenever I put on the anti-biotic eyedrops, and it feel a lil' uncomfortable, and I have to wear the terminator eyeshield provided to me, it feels great to be able to see things without any external aid.

The surgery was a lil' scary.

Darling accompanied me to dim sum (my fav, muacks!) in the morning and roam about before we head on to Outram for the surgery in the afternoon. The schedule time was 1.15 pm to reach there and 1.30pm to start the operation. Was slightly early. Thank god there wasn't alot of people taking the shuttle bus.

Preparation and briefing started. Confirmed i/c no, wear shoe cover, plastic robe, showercap, cleanse eye lids, and put numbing eyedrop. Feel queer when the eyes started to numb. Rest for a while and time to go in!

To everyone else in the room, it's just a normal short surgery with minimal risk involved. To me, it's a BIG BIG thing. Dr Ang started with my right eye. He is very assuring but can hear that this is just a normal script that he has been going thru every surgery "yes, you are doing fine... perfect... great... 80%, 90%, 95%, perfect"...

My eyelid was taped, and clamped open. Pretty worried that they might just removed all my lashes. My left eye was covered.

Was asked to focus on the flickering red light. Then very quickly, he put some device on my eyeball which I think is to cut the cornea open. This is the time when my vision blacked out. I guess this is what I would see when I go blind - absolutely nothing! I felt abit discomfort! weird feeling. then vision resumed but blur. Then it's time to open the flap and laser. Can smell some burning smell and subsequently, he said he is putting on the flap and making sure it was perfect. This is the time when you see his tool scraping on your eye to put the flap back. Very amazing.

then it's time to change side. Dunno is it my eyes wasn't numbed enough or I am tired and tried to close my eye but the clamp prevented such movement, I felt pain when the surgery was performed on my left eye. Not the intense kind.

Throughout the surgery, I was so tensed~ Wanted to relax but can't! At times when it gets uncomfortable or abit painful, I started to ask myself why I am putting my eyes through this. But no time for regrets. Looking back, I am glad I din grab doctor's hand and said I dun wanna do. Haha. especially now the vision is clear! Like wearing contact lens~ I hope it will get so perfect 6/6 or even 6/4 vision and no astigmatism!

Then everything was fine and done! I felt abit giddy though but after a while was fine already. Vision was blur. But doctor checked my eyes for me. Love the way he said it, "perfect". But he told me my eyelid was oily and good thing I came for lasik. Dunno how it links, I am going to ask him tommorrow during my checkup. Haha. Left the clinic at 2.05 pm. Only takes 1 hour for the entire procedure. Perfect!

was given 2 antibiotic eyedrops to be taken 2 hourly and 5 mins interval. It definitely stings!

And a whole box of eyedrops to lubricate my eyes. every 15 mins. So i need to monitor closely because i keep forgetting!

Been trying to keep myself awake at the begining. Eyes discomfort and keep wanting to just doze off. Must go and walk walk if not sure sleep one. Now I feel so awake. Think I am watching too much tee-vee and computer. Hope it dun impact much. Vision started to clear up. And by now, I can see quite clearly. Yeah!

Dunno if I need to restrict certain food like prawn or crabs. Haha. Look forward to a brand new day tomorrow. No grasping for spectacles or trouble putting on contact lens anymore!
