Post-op

Went for my post-op review on Wednesday. To be one of the few, I reached there about 1pm.

By then, my vision has greatly cleared up. And it stings less badly when I put the steriod eyedrop.

Have to go to the Evaluation room to check my vision. I can see most of the words. And please dun try to memorise the letters.

Then waiting and waiting. There are just alot of waiting time but never mind. Just stoned loh. Stoning is only a kind of blessing coz seldom got time to stone during working hours. Hah. I was the first to see doctor! Fantastic.

Dr Ang is still the same. Friendly and confident. He said he corrected my vision 6/6 and 6/6 and 6/7.5 respectively but it's great that I am having a 6/6 on both side! But actually my left eye is not so clear because he said it was perhaps more damaged by the contact lens. Even my two eyes are affected by the lasik differently.

He uses his device to look at my eyes and commented that the healing is perfect but abit dry, especially the left eye. I love the way he described. He said now my eyes is like a car windscreen with scratches. Because the old cell is being removed, whereas the new cells are not coming fast enough to replace this old cells. So he prescribed me with Vidisic Gel, an ointment for bedtime use. Have to use it right before my bedtime, just put on, blink a few times and sleep! It's something like to wax my "windscreen" and heal my cracks while I sleep. And I was given another two bottles of eye drops - Refresh Tears.

Of course this meant more money but luckily the post-op reviews are included in the prices.

I think my doctor did a very good job. He is competent, friendly, patient, humorous and has very apt explanation to every situation. Even after the op, I asked him about how come my eyelid oily will cause a problem. Coz he mentioned it on the day of op and commented that it's a good thing I considered lasik early. He said this is because the oil from my lower lid (near lashes that part) will block the tears duct (something like a pore block and cause pimple on the face) and causes dryness to my eyes. Means if I continue to wear lens, my eyes will be even more damaged and dry.

He keep emphasising that long-term contact lens are no good for our eyes. So friends, please consider lasik! I think it's good, coz I am having a perfect eyesight of 6/6 for both eyes during the review. I read that alot of dr ang's patient having 6/4.5 vision (meaning eagle eyes) post-op! And he never restrict me. *smile* I can watch tv, play computer as much as I wan to, and sleep as late as I want. Shiok. I will highly recommend him! Dr Leonard Ang from Singapore National Eye Center. Get from me his email!
