This is the same as my mood.
Finally picked up my mood to write this post.
I din mention but here's a post I wrote to SONY to feedback on the distributor at Sim Lim Square.
"Hope you don't find my story too long.
We went to the Sony Square at Sim lim square ("the branch") on Thursday (26/7/07) to buy a Sony mp3 player. On the rack, it stated that we are entitled to some free gifts including a strap, holder, leather pouch and a FM transmitter.
The sales personnel was not exactly enthusiastic about his job, giving us a feeling of "buy if we want". I tried to ask him about this free FM transmitter and I got no reply. This is the first issue I wish to raise: "If the guy at the front line is not enthusiastic about his own products, don't expect the consumers to".
Nonetheless we bought the mp3 player from the said branch for our trust in Sony brand. We thought that since this branch is carrying the name of Sony, it should be reliable. We were given the product (with its box) and a black box with the freebies. We thought that the FM transmitter was attached somewhere with the box, if not it could be a software that is downloadable somewhere on the internet.
It's only on the Saturday (28/7/07)that we realised something was amiss. We tried calling the branch at 8 plus at night but no one answer. I have no problems with opening hours but I do believe Saturday nights are great for shopping.
Back to the point, I called again on Sunday to clarify the matter. Again, the way the receiver answered my call remarkably displayed their unprofessionalism. I asked the person what is this FM transmitter I am supposed to get and the reply was "something that was transmitted". Being a non-technical person, I was shocked by the answer. The phone was then passed around. Further conversation illustrated that the receivers were rude and jumped into the conclusion that I wanted to cheat them of a mere inexpensive FM transmitter.
After much discussion and putting on hold, I was asked to leave my contact number. The person said he will get back to me after they do a stock take. I almost give up on my attempt because I knew that they will not call me back because it was 5 minutes to 7 pm (their closing time).
I decided to give the branch another chance to address my problem by calling them at 11am on Monday. I got another rude sales personnel on the line who absolutely have no idea what I am talking about. She could not be bothered with me and asked me (rudely) to bring my receipt down to the branch. I tried to explain that I am not free due to my job nature and all I got was another rude reply to "bring your receipt down".
Of course, I did not go down to the branch again. I have specially went down to get the player and this is such a service that I got. And since Monday, I never got a call from the branch to follow up on the call.
I have posted on the forum and there was a few replies saying that they had checked with Funan, Paragon, Bugis and even Courts that no such free FM transmitter was offered to the consumers. It could jolly well be a exclusive deal offered by the branch as a sales gimmicks. However, I have my doubts on the integrity of the branch. The gimmick could be just a dubious deal to cheat innocent buyers.
It could also be a real deal. Being the official distributor does not automatically give the branch the rights to ignore sales training and even integrity. The branch carries SONY brand and do have a direct impact on the brand name and bottomline.
Hope you can look into the problem seriously."
Then subsequently I got a call from Sony's customer service personnel who said that she has talked to the dealer. And out of goodwill, they have kept the last piece for me. The lady went on saying that why not just drop by and take. So I did. I went on Thurs but they were not opened. So I went again today, after blogging randomly. This is what I was entitled to.
And for this stupid FM transmitter that wasn't to be used with the player, and it look as if it cost only a few bucks and cheers to my curiosity, here's the price I gotta pay!
It's very traumatising to hear the sound of the scratches. And the lady security helped me pick up 2 plastic strips of different lengths that I absolutely have no idea what's that. I got out of the car to get that and saw the state of mess I created. And the first thought in my mind was, "HOLY SHIT, MY BONUS!"
I was making a right turn on my way out of the Sim Lim carpark. And I turned too early and the right side of the car rammed into the wall. *OUCH* I totally dunno how to make corrective action! But I think this is the coolest way that I handle the problem. Just get over and done with. I made it back home despite the trauma. Ask my younger sis to call my sis to tell her about it. The reaction is pretty unexpected. She kinda laughed, according to my sis. She was in the most peaceful state that you won't think she is the owner of the car. Think she already give up on the car. We have the fair share of contributing to the state of the car.
Really thanks to alot of people!
- My younger sis: luckily she is by my side. If not, I couldn't think of the consequences. I might just hide somewhere, dun dare to go home. She is giving me all the mental support and joke around as if nothing had happen.
- My sis: She is taking it so easy that I am respecting her for it. Luckily it's getz, if it's BM, I think she would kill me! She even said she will contribute to the repairs despite that she is very poor herself!
- My dad! Haven't seen him yet but according to my mum, he said it's okay and he will help me ask his friend about the repairs. He even suggest paying part of the repairs which is rather rare of him. I am so worried to see him right now, you dun know how terrible his nagging power is.
- My darling! I can sense how pain his heart must be when he realise he buang the car. Despite I am blaming him for my lack of practice, he promise to pay the repairs. Heh.
- My mom: she is keeping mum until I asked her about it. Alright her concern for me is enough.
- Huayi: He is the first person I contacted on MSN because he is online at the right time. Gave me lots of suggestions and ideas how much it's gonna cost. Thanks!
- Yongjin: Love you pal for the call. 2nd person outside my family to contact me after this silly accident. He tried comforting me and I appreciate the gesture. When we meeting to lah kopi?
- All those I contacted! Thanks for contributing to the "cheap and good repair shop list"
I feel so much stupider for making this stupid mistake. I hate myself for making expensive mistakes like this because such accident can be avoided. But well, darling said that area is a common accident ground by looking at the state of the wall. I swear I am not going to drive to SLS and buy from Sony Square!
