Nana not peeing?

And so Nana peed on my sofa bed at my mum's place on Saturday night. A big pool and I know this stubborn girl actually held her bladder like what she always did when she came to my house. But this was pretty strange because we didn't change anything in her current environment. Somehow she just refused to pee on her two pee trays.

So we observed. But Sunday we all went out for dinner and when we came home, the peetrays were still dry. My dad said there was some dubious liquid in small amount in the kitchen. But it's quite impossible because Nana would be peeing a big big pool given that she held her bladder for the entire day. I did see her sip some water.

Came Monday. My mum said Nana is still not peeing! We rushed home quickly to bring her to AAVC which was the nearest. waited for more than half an hour as the pair of malay ladies in front of me went in to talk about their cat's surgery. I was pretty upset because it's dinner time already and we all had yet to eat. I even ranted to the vet that "that was a pretty long wait". The vet looked at me bewildered and said "that was a very serious case". WTF, I hope she pardon me, preggy lady has no patience.

Vet examined nana and said she cannot feel her bladder (which is impossible because if it's really true that she didn't pee for three days, her bladder will be super full). Suspected a small tear in the bladder. She said can put a catherer (*ouch*) and observed for the night, if still not peeing have to go somewhere else with x-ray and ultrasound facilities. We told her that we will go to another clinic now which pissed me off because it's already 7:40pm, most clinics close at 8pm (last walk-in at 7:30). If they were faster, I would have been at the next clinic by now! Consultation for $29. Out of goodwill, they didn't charge us for the referral letter.

Went to Companion and managed to see vet Lee at 8:30pm (after 9pm they will charge premium!) who suggested to do blood test ($230) and x-ray ($100). Since we are there, of course must do. Anyway, it's good to do because I always find Nana's diet not well-complete. Might as well find out if she is lacking in anything!

Had to wait for another 40 mins, so finally dinner for us! Vet said Nana was in-fact slightly dehydrated. She was lacking in phosp but that's not the major concern, it's just because of her diet. Nothing in the x-ray to show leakage. It just meant they found nothing wrong! So vet injected a camel (a pool of water into her neck to hydrate her) and gave some antibiotics (JUST IN CASE she got inflammation). Super puzzling! Must observed, she should pee by next day evening. Total damage ~$440. Sigh. So we went back to Punggol to pick up her cage, then back to Yishun to cage her under observation. I emotionally broke down and cried alot. Everytime the animals are sick, I have to bring them to vet and at this moment I am too tired for it.

Next day morning, mum said nana vomit! WTF. Like 5-6 times during the night. We quickly brought her in to see Dr Kenneth Tong. He said her bladder is super full! Suggested to hospitalise her for them to monitor. If got urine, can also collect to do a test. Anti-biotics can don't take for the time being which I agreed with him because there is no known inflammation. Injected anti-vomit medication. I also requested them to feed Nana with some can food.

and Dr Tong called me at 12 plus! Nana finally peed and guess what, she drank her own pee that's why we didn't find her pee! my tears dropped everytime I told people about this. Too mortified or upset I don't know. My dad walked over to pick her up. $130+ for the bill! Finally he will know vet visits are not cheap and hopefully he give her better food! And apparently, Nana went home totally fine, running around happily. Like we had wasted all the time and efforts?

Anyway, I ordered barf which will be delivered tonight. Woohoo! $116 for 48 days feeding. My bitch better eat it! I ever ordered before but my mum still finds it tough to feed. WTF. just thaw and feed 1/4 each time she still mess up. They wanna convert her to kibbles/can which are easier. but my deceased sister had told me before her intention for Nana's feeding - no Hills, no kibbles, prefer homecooked or barf. Of course I must respect her wish! And I like Nana to eat HCF because she looks healthy, happy to me! I seriously didn't clean her ears for more than 1 week and they ain't dirty most of the time.

Now not only financial damage, she had messed up my own feeding time. Not enough sleep makes me lethargic and even more lack of appetite! I am eating rubbish right now. No proper lunch because I have no appetite! Hopefully my symptoms wear off soon. At least no further weight loss for now!
