Was at MOS burger buying my fav ebi rice burger meal but the bill came up to be:
$8.50
That's for 1 ebi rice burger ($3.70) + small fries ($1.80) + large milk tea ($2.65). a meal of the burger, small fries and small soda is $7.10. and the soda cost only $1.85.
Do your sums and this totally don't tally with what I would have pay if I buy separately or not. Being accounting-trained, with a bit of flair in mental calculation, and an inquisitive auditor's mind, I just feel that somehow it's not correct.
Somehow if I am the me in the past perhaps 2 years ago, I would have shrug it off my mind and leave with my meal but this time, I challenged the cashier. She was boiling in her heart but still try to get me off her butt by repeatedly explaining that the milk tea costs more than the soda. I got pissed off too (boiling in my heart) but still politely tell her somehow it's not right. (I am going to send a complaint letter actually to scold the management for this stupid pricing scheme!)
I got the receipt from her. Wasn't as easy coz she had to get her co-worker to help her. and guess what. she keyed in a "LARGE FRIES" instead of small.
Frankly speaking this is just a few cents mistake but kinda an evidence of me growing stronger to voice out my opinion calmly and subtlely. Or perhaps this is just an evidence of growing old.
